Kashmir conflict

Conflict between Pakistan and India on the control over the Kasmir region. The two countries fought four wars over Kashmir: in 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999. Pakistan claims that a referendum must be held in Kashmir, its population is mainly Muslim and they are to determine if it will be incorporated into Pakistan or remain its status. India refuses to yield the part of the province claiming the decision of the Kashmiri parliament on integration to India in 1947. Currently, the south of Kashmir is controlled by India, the north - by the so called Azad Kashmir - by the Pakistani army. The armies are separated by a Line of Control. The referendum supported by the UN hasn`t been held yet.
