Reply of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev to a reporter`s question at Bina Airport before his leave for the United States of America in order to take part at the 49th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations - September 25, 1994

During the three years of the independence of Azerbaijan, its President has never participated at the session of the General Assembly nor delivered a speech there. I shall take part at the session. Undoubtedly, it means that Azerbaijan is going to be represented on a high level for the fist time. Of course, in my speech I shall inform about the internal and foreign policy of Azerbaijan, particularly the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, which is the most painful problem for us.

Recently, the attitude of the USA towards Azerbaijan has been positive. Mr. Clinton has sent me several letters from time to time. Only during September I have got two mails from him. It demonstrates that the attitude in the USA towards Azerbaijan is changing positively and will change more, I suppose.
