From the talk of the Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev with Carey Cavanaugh, the USA co-Chair Person in the Minsk Group of OSCE – Davos, January 28, 2000

Carey Cavanaugh: “Mr. President, I am glad to meet you. Your meeting, talk conducted in Davos will play an important role in removing the problems which Azerbaijan is facing now.

I am watching attentively the session of the World Economic Forum in Davos on the topic :”The Perspectives of the Caucasus and the Central Asia: The Silk Road or a Big Game.” I highly appreciate your speech and the answers to the questions.”

 

Heydar Aliyev: “Thank you, Mr. Cavanaugh, I held direct negotiations here for the peaceful solution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. There is a need for increasing the efforts of the United States of America as one of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group of OSCE for the immediate solution of this conflict.”

 

Carey Cavanaugh: “Mr. I assure you that the United States of America is supporting the negotiations which you hold with President Robert Kocharian. As you said, the United States of America is ready to multiply its efforts in the Minsk Group.”
